ANDREW TYRONE RODGERS (Born 1980) is a songwriter/multi-instumentalist originally from Ampthill,England. His first forays into music developed during childhood when he used to "imagine" melodies in his head. By the age of twelve this developed into what you could call songwriting.

During his teenage years in the mid 1990s, he began to hone his craft by continually composing, learning multiple instruments (such as guitar, bass, keyboards and drums) and recording songs on primitive domestic equipment. By the turn of the decade and a move to London, he had already amassed a backlog of nearly 100 songs.

After playing with various bands at university, the early 2000s saw Andrew retreat from recordings and spend time travelling Europe and working in various jobs. Then, with a move to Japan combined with improved affordable technology and the emergence of online networking amongst musicians and the public, he renewed interest in creating music and since 2008 (coinciding with a relocation to Tokyo) has resumed recording original compositions.

Note was first taken in 2009 in which Japanzine Magazine featured him as part of their Gaijin Sounds competition. He was also included in the 2010 edition which too showcased the best international songwriting talents based in Japan. The same year his belated debut album SUGAR KANE AND MAGIC CIRCLES was released, followed by THE PASSING OF TIME in 2012. Each consist of material entirely written, played and produced by Andrew himself.

Songs which have received acclaim over the years from fans and musicians alike include GREEN LANES, THE YELLOW HOUSE, EKI MAE, LET'S OPEN and PLASTIC HANDS. Having played live in and around Tokyo over the years with former backing groups REMEDY'S LIBRARY and THE AVOIDED, he now performs on stage with in a trio consisting of himself, BRADLEY BENNETT (originally from US - Keys) and MALLORY LAPLAINE (France - Drums).

Whilst continuing to write and record, he has also had time for other projects over the past several years since being based in Tokyo. These have included guesting on drums for bands such as The Watanabes, Asobikurasu and Kev Gray w/The Gravy Train whilst filling in the role full time with another former band The Simones. Further projects include music videos directed for local Tokyo bands and a long association with the Tokyo music event series, Iro Iro, being founder and co-organiser.

More melodies to be imagined. More great things expected :-)
